The African Journal of Food, Agriculture, Nutrition and Development (AJFAND) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed publication published by the Rural Outreach Program (ROP), a Kenya-based non-governmental organization that supports resource-poor farmer groups engaged in production and agro-processing at the community level. Initiated in 2001, AJFAND is one of the first continuously published agriculture, nutrition and development research publications in Africa.
Prof. Ruth Oniang’o is the journal’s founder and editor-in-chief as well as the leader of ROP. Oniang’o serves on the advisory board of the Virtual Fertilizer Research Center and previously served on IFDC’s board of directors.
