Dr. Agnes M. Kalibata has been a member of the IFDC Board of Directors since 2008. She chairs the board's Africa Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Kalibata is Rwanda’s Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI). She serves as chairman of the board for the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (ISAE) and co-chairman of the National Clinical Research Center of Rwanda. She is also a member of the Rwanda Development Board.
Kalibata previously served in the positions of State Minister and Secretary General of MINAGRI and she has also managed a World Bank project in Rwanda. She completed post-doctoral work at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Kampala, Uganda. Kalibata holds a doctorate in entomology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She received a master's degree in agriculture and a bachelor's degree in entomology and biochemistry from Makerere University in Kampala.
