Dr. Amit Roy to Co-Lead the Global TraPs Project
March 29, 2011 – MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala., and ZÜRICH, Switzerland – Dr. Amit Roy, IFDC president and CEO, has been named co-leader of the Global TraPs project, along with Dr. Roland Scholz, chair of the Natural and Soil Science Interface at ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich). Global TraPs stands for “global transdisciplinary processes preparing for sustainably coping with phosphorus from a supply chain perspective.”

Bangladesh Minister of Agriculture and U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Launch Accelerating Agricultural Productivity Improvement Project
March 9, 2011 – NALITABARI UPAZILA, Bangladesh, and MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Minister of Agriculture Matia Chowdhury, who is also a member of the Bangladesh Parliament, and U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh James Moriarty formally launched the “Accelerating Agricultural Productivity Improvement (AAPI)” project in the Nalitabari upazila (sub-district) of Bangladesh’s Sherpur district on March 5.

Dr. Josué Dioné Joins IFDC Board of Directors
March 2, 2011 – MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Dr. Josué Dioné, director of Food Security and Sustainable Development for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), has accepted a three-year appointment to IFDC’s board of directors. Dioné has more than 30 years of experience working with development policies, strategies and programs that focus on agriculture, food security and sustainable development in Africa.
